Description

A light, fresh, sweet citrus scent reminiscent of ripe lemon peel. This well-known citrus fruit is a popular and versatile essential oil, often referred to as the "sunshine oil." It is refreshing and rejuvenating, with an aroma that inspires, brings fresh energy, and clears the mind.

Lemon trees, which can grow 10-20 feet tall, are common in Brazil, Israel, the United States, and Argentina. The fruit begins as fragrant white flowers, and the oil is extracted from the rind rather than the juices. Lemon trees became widely known in the 17th century when the fruit’s high vitamin C content was recognized.

Uses

Lemon essential oil offers a variety of applications:

• Morning cleanse: Start your day with a drink of lemon, water, and honey to refresh your system.
• Home freshness: Add a few drops to a diffuser to freshen your home’s aromatic climate.
• Cleaning aid: Mix with water when washing dishes or cleaning the house.
• Emotional support: Helps release feelings of detachment, emptiness, frustration, sadness, and stagnation.

Additional uses include:

• Rub on corns, callouses, or bunions to soothe and soften them.
• Vaporize 3 drops of lemon with 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to clear cluttered thoughts.
• Bathe with 2 drops of lemon and 2 drops of geranium essential oil to soothe mood swings.
• Inhale 3 drops of lemon with 3 drops of tea tree essential oil to ward off colds.
• Mix with lavender essential oil and gently rub into the lower back to alleviate physical tiredness.
• Use 1–2 drops to remove gum, oil, grease spots, glue, or crayon from surfaces.
• Add 2–3 drops to water in a spray bottle for cleaning surfaces.
• Mix 10–15 drops with a gallon of carpet cleaning solution to remove stains and brighten rugs.
• Place a few drops on a cotton ball in the refrigerator to eliminate odors.
