Description

Citrus sinensis is a medium-sized evergreen tree with greenish-brown bark and auxiliary spines on its branches. The leaves are alternate, ovate-oblong, acute, and a shiny green, with stalks that are more or less winged. The blood orange fruit is notable for its red streaks, and its juice often has a reddish hue when squeezed.

The uplifting and stimulating scent of Blood Orange (Sicily) Pure Essential Oil is valued by aromatherapists for its antidepressant and aphrodisiac properties. It offers a warm, fresh citrus aroma that is both fruity and tangy. Its chemical constituents also provide antiseptic and anti-spasmodic benefits. Additionally, the red pigment, anthocyanin, is a rare antioxidant in the citrus family.
